The Gay Married Elephant in the Room

Chris Dodd made the case for same sex marriage so eloquently and then said he was against it.   Too bad this issue didn't go down the line with other candidates. I'm sure there will be other chances for them all to finesse this issue.

Is this not the case with all debates...they beat around the bush....
Once again, we can count on Tucker Carlson to be his typical, patronizing self. Thank God there are people like him around to understand the really complicated stuff. The rest of us idiots are, well, just too stupid.
I think that the treatment of Mike Gravell was an mean. There was no attempt to be fair to all.
I too would have liked to hear the same sex marriage answer. Is that this issue is less important than the others?
I think Dodd has found a personal balance for himself on the topic, although it may not be my personal belief, I give him credit for going beyond the blanket response from other religious politicians that marriage is reserved for a man and woman. Allowing for civil unions is a step in the right direction.
Mike Gravel and Dennis Kucinich were the only 2 men who spoke from the heart and demonstrated any principle worth supporting. The rest of them all came off as career politicians-which is exactly what they are. May as well go with McCain if anyone from this "top tier" gets the nomination. How sad is that?
Exactly why Al Gore must run for president....enough of the double-speak, already!!
It's interesting that the VP has a daughter that falls into this category, loves her dearly, however, he does not support such issues. Everyone ignores this and gives him a pass. However the conservatives constantly push for this issue when their second in command faces the same issue and act as if they don't have the same issues as conservatives
Global warming and global warring...tied together by oil...great quote and yet ignored by your commentators and the multiple pundits. This was by Dennis Kucinich, again the most articulate and truthful of the candidates presenting tonight. I've been waiting for the replay of the debate. Since we're in California, and 3 hours different from SC, I thought it would be replayed. Silly me. I'm stuck with the pundit talking heads babbling away and arguing....so BORING!!! It was interesting to note that all of them IGNORED the results of your own MSNBC poll that said Hillary had the most canned and rehearsed answers. Schrum obviously on Hillary's payroll with his fawning remarks. And all of you on the Obama bandwagon in spite of his seriously deficient experience level...part of the star worship that all of you seem to prefer to substance. By the way, have any of you ever thought of using unidirectional mikes so that SOME of the background music is cut out or at least lessened. It was very distracting and almost at the same level as the various conversations immediately after the debate.
