Tommy Thompson just declared that “several thousand" soldiers have been injured in Iraq so far. Try more than 24,000. Come on. That's pathetic.

I completely concur. I was shocked that Thompson seemed to be in such denial or just wouldn't verify the actual number of wounded in Iraq. Thompson stands a snowballs chance in Hell, at winning anything.

As a U.S. Army infantry vet. I was disgusted that this person who wants the job of CIC couldnt be bothered to know how many Servicemembers were killed or wounded...pathetic

In his defense - he at least had a plan. He talked about concrete actions he would take if elected: implementation of local regional governments make a lot of sense to me given the tensions between the kurds, sunnis and shiites. Don't get me wrong, it wouldn't be easy - but much better answer then the obligatory - we must support our troops
