Mr. Matthews you were fabulous on the show yesterday.  I  thank you for holding these people accountable for what they say.  Will you please invite all of these crazy radio and tv talk show fools on to your show so you can show America that they are idiots that just spout whatever crap they think helps their crazy cause to ruin our country?
thank you so much for challenging this knucklehead on the air.  Republican or Democrat, nobody should be allowed to twist the hard lessons of history to suit their own convenient agendas.
Ignorance is a trademark of the Republican party
Chris Matthews, you are a genius! The way you showed up Kevin James' ignorance was spectacular. The guy kept on trying to weasel out of the fact that he did not know what he was talking about. Neville Chamberlain's public office legacy is remembered for his signing the Munich Agreement in 1938, giving part of Czechoslovania to Hiltler. What will George W. Bush's legacy be remembered for?
Thank you Mr. Matthews.  You made my day.
I would like to thank Chris Matthews for exposing a fraud and showing what journalism is all about. I had just about given up on Hardball, because people like Kevin James are too often invited on there and allowed to spew ridiculous nonsense without being called on it.

I hope you continue to hold your guests accountable for the things they say on national television, regardless of who they are. Job well done, sir.
Thank you Mr. Matthews for the excellent work with world historian K. James.  I cannot begin to express my gratitude that you pursued this conversation as you did. This is what the country deserves - we've done without for too long.  Thank you and please continue - we've so much at stake.  Take care. dc
Thank you, Chris for providing a memorable lesson on the real meaning of appeasement!
Last night's appeasement test was the best cable TV I've ever seen.

Chris Matthews, thank you! Please continue to challenge, not only your guests, but your viewers.

Please, force us all to use our very expensive college degrees to elevate the debate in this country.  Serious problems require serious thought.

We don't need catchy headlines -- We need truth and depth. I don't always agree with Chris, but he fits a lot to think about in a noe hour slot. No offense, but shows that have a three hour/day window to inform the world (morning joe) need to step up their game.

Love it! Love Matthews!
Chris - Thank you for putting this clown in his uneducated place.  Unfortunately, this tool is just representative of the right-wing nutcases currently polluting the air waves.  However, I smiled from ear to ear during last nights broadcast - Kudos, Mr. Man.  I have a newfound respect for you.
Chris-Thank you for trying to put this blowhard in his place.  I was screaming at the TV screen during this segment last night.  I would have told the control room to cut his mike.  People like Kevin James remind me of a statement made by one of my political science professors to the head of the campus republicans when I was in college, "It must be nice to be a conservative...It requires so much less mental baggage."
Chris - Im sure Kevin James is a good guy. Why would you have him back though? Why devalue a great discussion show by giving time to someone who does not know what he is talking about?
Chris,
I love you and your show. I look forward to watching your show whenever you are on, and  I am very happy that I did not miss the show last night. I could not believe that Kevin James have any kind of show.  Who listens to him?  From now on, people will think twice before they go on your show without reseaching their information. DO YOUR HOMEWORK! KNOW YOUR HISTORY. My kids knew to reseach information before presenting it. Does Kevin James even know how to use the Internet. Maybe he should have before he stated opening his mouth. Chris, I was so proud of you last night. Please keep up the good work.
Thank you Mr. Mathews for showing viewers what uneducated fools these right-wing mouthpieces are.

Mr. James's performance last evening was a classic example of these blowhards on TV or radio. They talk loud, they talk fast and they talk over all the other guests and host. But they usually just say a couple of key phrases designed to appeal to their followers. I guess the key phrases last night for Mr. James were "appeasement", "Hitler", "Chamberlin" and "Barak Obama".

It is clear when you see or hear knucleheads like Mr. James that the right-wing of the Republican Party appeals to the most uneducated people in the United States. Unfortunately, people like Mr. James, such as Bill O'Riely and Rush Limbaugh have a huge audience.

Mr. Mathews the eduated people of the United States applaud you! Keep up the good work by exposing the "con" in conservative.
Great job Chris in pointing out the ignorance of some of these talk show blowhards who continue to perpetuate nonsense. Slogans like "cut and run" and "appeasement" are used to appeal to the masses as negative connotations for anyone who disagrees with them. Keep your guests on their toes Chris and don't let them get away with spewing ignorant nonsense.
The day is not complete without you, Chris, and Keith!
Thanks for being there for us last evening.  Now, if you could just answer this question...Obama, we feel, is a very fine man.  However, why does it seem that a novice is going to win the Oval Office at such an important time for us over a fantastic woman who is experienced, smart, capable, bound to beat out anyone in a debate, and definitely is ready for day one as she says?????Why oh why???? It is possible, you know, that McCain could beat Obama but NOT HILLARY!! This is such a crucial time for the Dems, our country, the world!!!A Clinton/Obama ticket would be great, that is the right way, not Obama/Clinton.He's for later!!
Bravo, Chris Matthews!  As a retired historian of Europe between the world wars (including a book on British policy in the 1930s), I had almost given up hope that any media pundit would expose the ignorance and abuse of history among name-callers on the Right.

I would add the following points to previous blog comments.  First, before Munich (1938), the word “appeasement” did not usually carry the pejorative meaning of surrendering a lot for little or nothing in return.  Second, the Right’s harping on appeasement has been central all along to the Bush regime's wholesale mythologizing of World War II in order to justify a misguided policy in the Middle East.  Finally, this mythologizing, especially the deification of Churchill, is central to the ideology of neoconservative "defense intellectuals," some of whom now advise Senator McCain.
Chris I have often been critical of you in the last couple years, but I need to express my gratitude to you for showing how most right wingers simple parrot talking points from the White House, despite their complete ignorance of the subject. Thanks,Great Job!!
Matthews takes on a rediculously loud mouthed talk show host, whoop dee do.  If he genuinely wanted to take on the subject of matter of the applicability - or lack thereof - of late 30's analogies with anything that is presently happening on the world stage he would have had some serious historians on his show, representing various positions, rather than radio talk show hosts.

For example, one thing people like Chamberlain (Anthony Eden as well, others still, including those in the State Dept and the executive branch in the U.S.) did - or rather refused to do - was talk to high placed members of the German resistance.  Another thing Chamberlain did was to positively state that Hitler was a man of his word, which is one of the reasons he was willing to talk with Hitler without preconditions, which in turn is why he was gradually led to accept Hiter's word that  "Czechoslovakia has nothing to fear from the Reich."

Obama has stated he will talk with Hamas, the Ahmadinejad's of the world, etc. - without preconditions - and we positively know what players like Hamas and Ahmadinejad have said relative to Israel.  McCain, by contrast, has also stated he would talk with such players - but only with preconditions, given the eliminationist and similar rhetoric (and promises) emanating from those quarters.

In sum, Matthews probes an inch or two below the surface of things, yet talks as if he's plumbed the depths.  Most ridiculously, he's done so by inviting a loud-mouthed radio talk show host on to his show.
