Senator McCann said,"I know how to get Osama Ben Laden, and when I become president, I'll get him. I say, whats the secret, why hasn't he told our generals or our President. He wanted to throws jabs at Obama, but his arms can't reach. Better yet, after reading the FACT check. Again, he was wrong. He and Sarah need to get together and get there acts straight. She is saying on thing, he is saying another. It seems like the Republican Party is always in an uproar and ready to fight. They are never calm. Also, McCain wanted to throw in Bill Ayers in but I'm sure he was told not too due to his encounters and interactions with the current president. What do you call the Iraq War. My husband served two terms and did not see a sense in going. Some of the soldiers are bored and have no purpose of staying. So in other Words, tell McCain to go and sit down and choose a house to live in for his family and Sarah's clan. I feel so sory for Trig,, the baby never have on shoes, nothing on his head, always in the smallest sister arm. That is sad. Sarah take care of your baby.
Who won the town hall debate?

I don't know if you all missed this, but I didn't. Just after the debate and during the meet and greet with each other and the attendees, Obama went to shake McCain's hand. McCain wouldn't take Obama's hand! Intentional or a fluff? McCain's poilitical director, how obnoxious can you be? McCain made that remarks "That one" as a racial remark. It is obvious throughout McCain's campaign, especially with the mud slinging has lead me to believe that the McCain/Palin ticket are racist. The first debate I felt it, but the second debate, put the penny in the slot for me.

His political director is the exact same person who help do him in with President Bush, now I can see why there are negative campaigning going on.

These people are blind, and "out-of-touch" with what American truly needs and wants in a President and Vice-President as far as "character" is concern. Makes you wonder why he could not get a meeting with Bush to tell him of his great fool-proof plan, lol.
I also found it rude that he marched around behind Obama when Obama was speaking. Obama mostly sat in his chair and paid attention to McCain when he spoke.

I'd also love to know what McCain wrote when he walked in, shook hands, and then jotted some notes. Was McCain noting the color of Obama's tie?

I love that McCain will now wave his wand and have the money to pay off or renegotiate bad mortgages. What does he think he is, Santa? I thought govt shoud stay out of our affairs (according to the GOP). What about the personal responsibility they are always going on about? Will he renegotiate my loan because my house is now worth less 2 years later or do I have to default on it before he will do so? If that is the case and he gets in, I don't think I'll send in my Nov. payment (just kidding).

The phrase flop sweat comes to mind. McCain appeared desperate and Obama seemed confident and collected. One trip to factcheck.org and people will see through McCain's act. Obama had a slip up or 2 but none as blatant or grievous as McCain's tries to distort the truth yet again.

The fan base for either candidate will be happy with tonight's debate. I just hope the independents continue to see through the GOP's smoke and mirrors and add to Obama's growing lead.

Who won the town hall debate?

Obama won the debate, but I have a suggestion for the next debate and maybe for all future debates for all elections, that is that when a question is asked of the candidate and they don't directly answer the question asked, the control should shut off the microphone of whom ever it is who is answering, then have the moderator remind them of the question and inform them that this will continue to happen until each one of them starts answering the questions that have been asked, We, the american people, deserve to hear to the questions asked, we have allowed the politicians the avoid the questions, STOP THAT, if you shut of thier mic's enough times just like rats they will learn the correct behavior, I myself and personally sick and tired of watching all of them just ignore the qeustion and go off on thier talking points, We should demand it of the media and the politicians, when some one in the media or this so called debate commission get some guts and take them to task, the reaction from the candidates would show the real truth, eventually..............

Who won the town hall debate?

H. I have a hard time understanding how a Senator with 25+ years experience in the Senate is going to effectively construct change from the bottom on up. I was hoping for a little more insight as to how this change will/can occur through Sen. McCain. I believe after watching all of the debates thus far that in order for a constructive change to occur you will need a person who has not been corrupted for the past quarter century by the special interests and lobbyists in Washington D.C. Obama and will hold him to his word for CHANGE. And I expect this to happen from the top down, and get America back to its standing of being the greatest country on this planet. Every four years, we are told these are the only two choices. We are told these are the two best men for the job...pick one. There is only left or right. There is only conservative or liberal. There is only Democrat or Republican. We're right, they're wrong. If you aren't one of us, you're a wacko.

Unfortunately, the two parties are far more similar than they are different. The presidential election has turned into a popularity contest and it doesn't matter who wins, the results will basically be the same.

Those of us who like neither of the two "major" party candidates and want to cast a vote for another party's candidate are told we are wasting our vote. Maybe we are. The loser is usually the only one who cares about 'protest votes' because they blame their loss on it (see Al Gore).

However, I will vote for the candidate I think is best to actually lead this country, not for the candidate the Democrats and Republicans put out and spoon-feed quotes and false facts.

Why are you Republican? Why are you Democrat? For most people, its because that's what their parents were. The two major parties do all they can to silence any other voice. Shame on them. We have never been a true democracy, but we are further removed from one today than we have ever been.

Who won the town hall debate?

I think the McCain comment about “Not you, Tom.” was just McCain buying time. When you're in a discussion and you need a few seconds to think, you throw something out there. I think McCain was just trying to be funny, and buy a few seconds to figure out his response. I wouldn't reach much into it.

Who won the town hall debate?

McCain looked old and tired. Too slick. Look deeper. Perhaps voters would benefit from looking at today's Illinois. It is in the state of political and financial upheaval with the help of Obama's liberal voting record. Or even worse--his lack of voting record from voting "present" so many times. He certainly did not show leadership qualities while in the Illinois legislature. Would not take a stand on many issues. I have to question his sincerity in picking Chicago to help people....or was it simply the best place to further his liberal agenda with the help of the Chicago Democratic machine. Take time to look beyond the wrapping.

Who won the town hall debate?

Although I am cognizant of who I prefer to win this race (I am a proud conservative sour on the GOP misleading methods for winning), I fear that race is truly embedded in our culture. Your focus group was a good source to measure by in their recognition of Obama's presidential performance but voting 14 to 11 for McCain in personal choice. Then there was the most frightening event of a Sheriff in uniform introducing Governor Palin who A sad visual for me sitting in my easy chair hoping for America's recovery.

Who won the town hall debate?

This debate's winner was so crystal clear! Sorry, Mr. McCain..........

Who won the town hall debate?

Hey Andy, the biggest mistake we have ever made was electing George W - TWICE!! I never voted for him and I am glad to see him go. I don't want McCain to carry on that legacy. Obama is clearly the best choice and the winner of the debate, again.

Who won the town hall debate?

McCain speaks of change for the American People? Both Candidates regardless of party affiliation fell short on several measures, no matter how bad we try to see the good. The fact that McCain said, "that one" was not a big deal it was simply a failed attempt at a joke as was the "not you Tom" statement. What we should be conserned with from McCain is that he can't seem to remember what is being said for more that 2 Minutes. Obama never once said that he was going to attack or invade Pakistan. He said quite simply that he would take action if Pakistan was un able or unwilling this is a simple statement that does not mean we would overstep our bounds in the international front. Also there were several instances where the candidate did not simply answer the questions they were given, but did the political two step to avoid answering a question they did not know the answer to. Overall i would say that Obama (which I do not support) won the debate for the simple fact that he didn't confuse what had just been said and try and convince the public, who were watching real time, that something else had been said. McCain (who I also do not support) is out of his element and a better candidate should have been chosen for the party. He sadly picked a running mate that quite frankly give women across America a bad image. She doesn't know her rear from her ear. Let's see what she has done in Alaska, Hmmmm.... Great job there Sarah one of the highest unemployed states in the Union. Yeah that is who we want in the co-pilot seat. The sad part is Joe Bidden is the only bright spot in this election. Come on America it's time to wake up and get out of party politics and see who is really doing what. none of them are going to do what they promise because the lobbyist and big business will never allow it to happen. Let's think for a moment where where is all of the money going to come from. I don't know about the rest of the country but i certainly don't have an extra couple Trillion just lying around to fund either partyt's heirbrained economic policy. Does anyone else. The economy could easily be fixed if people would just stop backing down from the special interest groups (by the way all of the politicians do..both parties). It is time for an overhaul of the American government and rid ourselves of the corruption that has crept in. Purge purge purge. we need to get rid of the folks that are in office and get new leadership across the board.

Who won the town hall debate?

GO OBAMA!!!! I think he did what he always does - took command and delivered. Obama is what our country needs some people are just too blind to see that. We need Obama!!!! He will be our next President - Thank you Obama

Who won the town hall debate?

After reading countless comments on the debate I have to agree that Senator Obama appeared to be the better candidate for the Presidency. However, might I remind everyone that although the appearances are there I am also now in agreement with others who think that his policies and his plans are more definitive than those of Senator McCain. I should also add that I am a registered Republican and have supported that party for some time. I do not know that I in good faith can cast a vote for Senator McCain at present day. I believe a candidate should be knowledgable, trustworthy and always respectful of anyone with whom they come into contact. Senator McCain misquoted several facts and in doing so has undermined his own integrity. He also was rude and abrasive and neither of those qualities will be appreciated by those in the global forum in which he would have to interact as our President.

Who won the town hall debate?

First off I am just going to say anyone who makes statements about McCain's stiffness and difficulty to lift his arms is cruel. Up until now I have strongly supported him and denounced any Obama lovers as over hyped, hypnotized left wingers. I believe I see now why people like him so much, he actually answers questions. McCain kept saying he knows the answers and that they aren't hard to find... SO WHAT ARE THEY?! Why can he not explain any of his plans while Obama explains in detail? "Reaching across the table..." is not a solution. It can help... but where's the plan, man? I live in a town that is very conservative like most everyone else I have supported McCain 100%, even argued heavily with friends who are more left wing. I admit now McCain is not the answer. I am not totally sold on Obama but at least he seems to grasp what is behind this countries issues. It was like McCain was a little boy instead of an old man. His disposition was similar to that of a 6th grader in the middle of a pop quiz.

Who won the town hall debate?

Obama just plain scares me. His eyes are vacant, there's nobody home. Don't get me wrong, I voted for Kerry in 2004.. but I like what McCain's saying this time around. Nuclear power, HELLO?! Why is everyone so afraid of nuclear power? It isn't like Homer Simpson is really the one watching the reactors.. there is no reason why, in 2008, this whole country shouldn't be powered by nuclear energy. It's safe, clean, and easy. Just build more plants. Yes we need to start pulling out of Iraq, but not before they actually can take over their own government. Thank you, Sen. McCain. And I have the prefect solution to the whole "tax cuts for businesses" debate: Why don't we propose tax cuts to companies big and small IF and ONLY IF they bring jobs back to the US? The reason jobs are going overseas is because American businesses are among the highest-taxed in the world. Of course it's cheaper to pay for labor elsewhere, we tax it too much. If we give those companies a break as incentive for bringing jobs back home, the jobs will come back.

I am sick and tired of all the finger-pointing and the "look what I did 8 years ago" and false figures.. I think candidates should focus more on boosting themselves up and less on acting like a child to bring the other down. Honestly, I'm not in love with either of the candidates. But I truly think Sen. McCain would do a better job in there than Obama.

Who won the town hall debate?

It makes me sad to realize that such a vast majority of Americans would vote for someone based on the fact that they "look" more presidential, or "sound" better speaking. That isn't what matters and the more I hear it, the angrier it makes me. Wake up. I listen to people talk about Clinton and what a great president he was. I ask them why they think that, and they say "He was SUCH a great speaker, and he LOOKED so GOOD! I'd put him right back in office if it were possible.". Unbelievable! And all of this talk about McCain being "racist" because of his "That one" comment...give me a break. This is the 21st Century, and it's thinking like that that keeps us from breaking away from racism. Was it condescending? Sure it was. But these two have been after each other from the very start, and I'm quite certain it will continue until the votes are tallied. Maybe we should start saying Obama is racist against McCain?

Who won the town hall debate?

I am registered Republican and have to say Barack Obama, you have my vote! If you think America is in crisis now, just wait until Obama gets into office. As usual, the rich will get richer and the poor poorer and this great country will fall apart. Obama will NOT keep his promises or stand up for his proposed reform. He has never stood up to his campaign promises in the past, what makes anyone think he will this time? Look at the facts, look at his record....all he ever says is "I wrote a letter". Well gee Obama I have written letters too, what about standing up for your promises to voters and voting for the promises you made? Oh yes, you dont want to upset anyone, so you will just write a letter and vote the opposite in fear of ruffling feathers.

People OPEN your eyes, if you want the true facts, here is a book to enlighten you, and everything can be fact checked for verification 'The Case Against Barack Obama’.

God help us all.

Who won the town hall debate?

There were no winners in last night's debate; only losers. And the biggest losers are the American People! McCain appears out of touch with the issues facing the average American family. Obama appears to be in touch but prosposals require unprecedented amounts of spending. And the unfortunate part is if Obama is elected, he will only be a pawn for a Democratic Congress that will not stop spending until this country is bankrupt! First and foremost, Congress needs a balanced budget...spend only after you receive the money...if you don't receive money then Don't spend.
Why did neither candidate specifically address corruption and greed in Congress and on Wall Street? I know because I grew up in the deep south - I know what he was saying and it shows why McCain has never approved of celebrating Kings birthday in Arizona the only state that doesn't. The real problem with arrogance is that players like Bush, and McCain, think they have all the answer's and need no advice. Great leaders are never great in themselves but surround themselves with great people, so Obama was very smart in picking Bidden because it shows he knows how to pick the players that will help him get the job done, while Palin is showing the county that she is nothing more than a cheer leader without the POMPOMS. Obama gives strait facts figures and percentages regarding how his policies will effect 95% of Americans. The other 5% of Americas wealthiest are not even complaining about it. Obama said he is will to pay the extra tax dollars so you we can have tax cuts and the only ones I see complaining about it are the Bushes, the Chanie's, and the McCain's.

Who won the town hall debate?

It was clear for all to see,McCain is truly out of touch with the rest of us. How easily our conuntry can be swayed by a person who is eloquent. He "looks presidential", He was "relaxed and easy going." Yes I agree, McCain looked frustrated. He is frustrated. Frustrated by the fact that the American public is soaking up a bunch of speech without substance. As far as last night, tell me one place where Obama was "Specific" In fact tell me one time he was ever been specific.
In 1992, we were duped by an eloquent speechmaker. On 9/11, this policy of "consideration and thoughtful action" from a man who was a eloquent speaker came to fruition. 3000 americans died for his eloquence. The Europeans loved him too! I can see now that Obama will indeed be the next president, the media is working too hard to lose another one. They have been playing Kingmaker since 2000. I just hope our country will survive the "leadership" were get over the next 4 years.

Although, it was the other party controlling the purse strings. Queen Nancy and her band of court jesters have been in control for 2 years. In that time, they have only managed to conduct a series of partisan investigations aimed at winning the White House.

Who won the town hall debate?

lots of hot air from mccain (and palin). their cutting taxes for the rich in order to create jobs for americans is simply one of their wackiest jokes. they really believe the american public is a bunch of idiots they can control and lie to as their idols gwbush and cheney did.
the bush admin had cut tax for the rich the last 8 years but this country is losing jobs and the economy is going down the drain. the only jobs that this rich vampires created were jobs that are outsourced to china, india, etc. this rich vampires don't care for americans, they only care for the tens of millions in annual salaries and bonuses they think they're entitled to.
another 4 years of gwbush legacy and continued destruction of this country? This does not mean leadership. Where I respect that he put his life on the line for our country it was a choice. flying a jet does not make you presidentual material; being a POW does not make you presidentual material. I am also a vet and if you volunteered and were not drafted, you chose a lane in life. In the military you have leaders and you have technicians. So, as a pilot, how many people did he lead? With the technology that our aircraft had during those days, how was it that he was shot down and then, how was it that he was captured? How many times did he try to escape while he was a P.O.W.? If he wants to rely on his time in the military, then there is a thing called military bearing and what he showed the people on this night was not that of a leader not in his conduct of words and mannerisms. Obama for never having served put McCain to shame

Who won the town hall debate?

The Republicans constantly state that Congress has a very ;ow approval rating and blame it on the fact that the Democrats control Congress. What they fail to realize however is that the knowledgeable voter is aware that the reason Congress has been unable to do anything is because the Republican Party has a large enough minority to effectively, and continuously block any meaningful legislation that it does not like.
