Americans are fed up with the war in Iraq. They are fed up not just because that nation is spinning out of control, corruption is rampant, U.S. casualties are mounting each month, records amounts of future taxpayer dollars are being wasted, the conflict has eclipsed the amount of time the United States fought in World War 2, but also because Americans realize we were lied to about the reasons for invading Iraq in the first place. The fact that Iraq has the second largest proven oil reserves on the planet while our country is running out of oil, our population is increasing and demand is growing. Gas prices are still near record highs and oil company profits have reached levels never seen in history. Folks may not be able to connect all the dots due to having to work longer hours with less time off, they know they have been conned and they don't like it. So if Pelosi and the Democrats can't or won't make nice with enough Republicans to cut off the funding for continued military operations let alone kill the troop surge, like gasoline prices, resistance is going to increase and the sitrep on the ground in the United States is going to turn very, very ugly over the next two years.
