The big story of the week is General David Patraeus couldn't say the war in Iraq is making America safer, but President Bush saying we'll stay there longer.

President Bush hitched the future of this country beyond himself,

The '36 nations' helping us on Iraq

There is only a handful of other people over there because the rest of the world knows we should not have gone in there.
This is much bigger than the Iraq War. This stems from planning before 9/11 ever happpened.
My question is... "With all of the eye witnesses that survived 9/11, why were they not allowed to testify for the 9/11 commission report"?
There is an agenda that is clearly being played out. No one really knows who is pulling Bush's strings.
We need to go back and reinvestigate 9/11 and what was known before that tragic event.
New World order anyone?

The '36 nations' helping us on Iraq

I was very disappointed and frustrated but not surprised by Bush's speech and the number of outright lies and false innuendos. Making a statement such as that, in light of the actual numbers, indicates to me that Bush, (or his speech writer ... or both), really think that I'm going to listen to that claim and 1) Not wonder why it is the American troops who seem to be doing all the dying, and 2) Not bother to ask who all these other 36 nations are, and why they don't ever make the news?

It was especially insulting to the American troops and their families. American troops are fighting and dying in this war, not American troops alongside 36 other nations. If this war is ever won, it will be American troops who win it, not Japan or New Zealand. Fiji would have made it 37 with it's two troops but it went under a UN mandate so they really didn't count.

I don't know who is accurate here, but I would like to find out how much it cost us for President Bush to make a statement that there were other countries still there as a coalition , preferably on per troop basis so as not to confuse anyone with numbers so large no one could identify with them.

The '36 nations' helping us on Iraq

You have largely held back on open and pointed criticism of our friend, Mr. Bush and his misguided, even criminal, policies. I'm glad you are no longer keeping your opinions in check. I have witnessed your misgivings and your disagreement with what is happening. I only hope more will join people like you, Keith Olbermann, and even Tim Russert who are being more vocal about the tragedy that continues to unfold.

The '36 nations' helping us on Iraq

If I went to Baskin And Robbins and they had 50 tubs of Vanilla and one Dixie cup of Rocky Road I would sue them for false advertising.

The Iraq war is a cruel joke.

The '36 nations' helping us on Iraq

Maybe you should point out how many Canadian troops are serving in Afghanistan, freeing up American troops for Iraq !

The '36 nations' helping us on Iraq

Chris, what illogic lets Bush think that the occupation of Saudi Arabia and the resultant attack on 9/11 isn't going to now repeat itself with the permanent occupation of Iraq?
The man is mindless in his crusade-like idiology. Do you imagine he has ever read anything about the Crusades by the way?
Unless Bushs' successor radically re-directs what they have inherited we will have another 100 years war on our hands, at the end of which Islam will still rule the Middle East.
I gaze on the world with tired eyes and weep.

The '36 nations' helping us on Iraq

I am shocked following watching Keith Oberman's count down last PM 9/14/07. Relating Bush's friend from Texas who is on the board of the college that will have the "President Bush Library": Person that donated millions for this, is on the board of the library, is associated with, of course, the VP's
Haliburton Company, is now going to be part of the
international committee that has access to all international business unrestricted!!!! will be in control of the Iraq oil from the Curds....Look into this and read more about it....
The USA public needs to get this President/VP machine out of power they only represent the war industry to
"pump" more money into their pockets....and kill more children in this country....
READ....READ....READ....I am discusted!!!!
This President and VP are discusting....
A mother for peace and equality...
power!!!!

The '36 nations' helping us on Iraq

LOL, Right on Chris.
